If you’re looking for a relaxed, stress-free golf getaway in the Bay of Quinte area, Dormie House at Bay of Quinte Golf & Country Club is tough to beat.
A bit of history first: Dormie House used to be the club’s pro shop. These days, it’s been reborn as a standout on-course short-term accommodation—one that happens to be perfectly suited for golf groups. I have toured Dormie House with Roger, the owner, and I can say without hesitation: it’s top-notch.
The house offers about 3,000 sq. ft. of comfortable living space, a fully equipped kitchen, indoor dining for 12, BBQ, laundry, internet, TV, and plenty of parking. Best of all, with six bedrooms and lots of twin beds, everyone gets their own bed. This alone makes it a winner for a guys’ golf trip.
Location is where Dormie House really shines. It sits right on the golf course grounds, adjacent to one of the practice areas, and is an easy walk to the pro shop and X1X Restaurant—a Hungry Golfer-approved on-site restaurant that you will love. Translation: park the car, grab your clubs, and forget about logistics for a couple of days.
When it comes to golf, do yourself a favour and play both courses. Start with the newer 18-hole North Course, then take on the South Course’s 18 holes that Quinte-area golfers have been enjoying for more than 100 years. It’s a great one-two punch and an example of just how deep the golf roots run here in the Bay of Quinte area.
One heads-up: Dormie House is extremely popular with golf groups. Most 2026 weekends are already spoken for. There are still some mid-week dates available if you move quickly. And just between you and me, mid-week golf tends to be quieter, faster, and just a little more enjoyable.
