Cost of Golf at the Top Five Golf Courses in the Bay of Quinte and Prince Edward County Region in 2026
Have you decided where you’ll be golfing in 2026?
Winter may have the fairways buried for now, but by the end of February, we’ll be less than 60 sleeps from teeing it up again in the Bay of Quinte and Prince Edward County golf region.
Some golfers stick to one home course. Others like to roam. With so many standout courses in our region, it would be a shame not to experience as many great courses as you can each season.
Custom Membership Packages to Meet Your Needs
Most of the top five golf courses in the region offer a buffet of membership packages. There are variations on the size and types of packages, but all have one common theme: the more you play, the less you pay.
Remember that all-important theme: the more you play, the less you pay. You are going to need it when your better half yells out to you as you are loading your clubs into the car, “Are you going golfing AGAIN?”
“Why yes, dear, if I played less, it would cost even more”. I am playing more golf to keep the costs down, sweetheart.”
Cost to Tee it Up at Quinte Area’s Top Five Golf Courses
I’ve done the legwork on the cost to golf at what I consider to be our top five local golf courses in the Bay of Quinte and Prince Edward County region:
I am listing the prime-time weekend rates for 18 holes at each of the top five courses. All membership pricing is based on packages that are non-transferable and allow unrestricted tee times, 7 days a week.
Trillium Wood Golf Club, Picton Golf & Country Club, and Black Bear Ridge Golf Resort offer an “Unlimited Play” membership, which can bring the cost to play golf down even more than indicated in their 60-round rate. The other courses have limits on their membership packages but offer additional rounds for very reasonable rates.
Tips to Save On Green Fees
Most courses have lower membership packages that incentivize you to play at off-prime times. If you are an early riser or enjoy afternoon golf, there are packages that will save you money. There are also weekday-only packages that are less expensive than unrestricted play memberships.
You can also keep your eye out for golf specials on websites such as UnderPar.com or purchase the Rotary Club of Belleville’s Diners & Duffers annual coupon book.
Course Highlights
Before I wrap up, I want to share a few thoughts on each of the five golf courses in the chart. These comments aren’t about whether you should play them or not. As far as I’m concerned, I’d play them all. Each one is unique and special in its own way.
Bay of Quinte Golf & Country Club
2026 will be a milestone year for Bay of Quinte Golf & Country Club as it becomes the Quinte region’s only 36-hole golf destination. As of June 5, golfers can choose between the new North Course and the well-loved South Course.
The North Course is best played with a power cart, as it covers more ground and has a varied terrain. The South Course remains a very walkable layout with classic appeal. Add in flexible golf plans and membership options, and Bay of Quinte Golf & Country Club offers lots of variety and great value for local golfers.
Black Bear Ridge Golf Resort
Black Bear Ridge Golf Resort isn’t just popular, it’s nationally respected. As of 2025, it sits at #33 on ScoreGolf’s list of Top Public Golf Courses in Canada, and one round on the Magee Championship Course quickly explains why. It’s a polished, demanding layout that rewards solid ball-striking and punishes poor shots in equal measure.
One of Black Bear’s standout offerings for many, me included, is its Academy Membership, which is tailor-made for golfers who want to improve, not just play. Members gain access to top-tier practice facilities, instruction from in-house PGA of Canada professionals, unlimited play on the par-three executive course, and limited access to the championship layout. It’s a smart option for golfers who are looking to improve their game.
Picton Golf & Country Club
Picton Golf & Country Club is one of those courses that looks friendly and is easy to walk, but demands your attention if you want to avoid donating too many golf balls to the cause. Yes, it’s scenic, with bent grass greens and fairways framed by mature trees and fescue rough, but don’t confuse pretty with pushover.
Located along the bluffs overlooking Picton Bay, water comes into play on eight holes, and smart course management is rewarded far more than brute force. With four tee options ranging from 4,470 to 6,179 yards, Picton Golf & Country Club also offers a play-as-much-as-you-want membership, making it one of the region’s most affordable options for local golf enthusiasts.
Timber Ridge Golf Course
Timber Ridge Golf Course offers a private-club feel without the private-club attitude. It’s a well-conditioned, thoughtfully designed layout that rewards smart shot-making and solid course management, with enough length and trouble to keep things interesting from tee to green. From the right tees, it’s very playable; from the tips, it demands respect.
Unlike some other top courses in the region, Timber Ridge does not offer membership packages; instead, it operates on daily green fees and dynamic pricing. That makes it a great option for golfers who like flexibility and are looking for a great golf experience without the commitment.
Trillium Wood Golf Club
Trillium Wood Golf Club is a very walkable, well-maintained course that rewards steady, thoughtful golf and suits frequent play. Because it hosts numerous corporate tournaments each season, getting a tee time takes a bit of attention, but regulars quickly learn the routine.
Its unlimited-play membership and flexible Golf Plan help keep the cost per round very reasonable. With an upgraded practice area and driving range completed in 2025, Trillium Wood offers strong value for golfers who like to play and practice often.
In Conclusion
Golfers in the Bay of Quinte and Prince Edward County area are lucky to call this part of eastern Ontario home. Between the 14 courses scattered across our region, there’s something for every taste, whether you’re chasing a tough test, a scenic stroll, or just affordable, walkable golf close to home. The five courses I’ve highlighted here represent just a slice of what’s on offer; there are plenty more fairways to explore, friendships to make, and rounds to be played each season.
If you want the full rundown on all 14 courses—including the ones beyond this top five—check out my complete guide: Golf Courses in the Bay of Quinte and Prince Edward County Region. Trust me, with options like these, your 2026 golf calendar is going to fill up fast.
